CLEAN AIR NOW
Clean Air Now launched its first billboard campaign in August 2016 highlighting the issues of air pollution in the UKs capital.
Back now promoting electric transportation, C.A.N.s new campaign launches in March 2017, with billboards on London's most polluted roads.
Every year, poor air quality in the city is cutting short the lives of over 9000 people.
London is facing an air pollution crisis, and up until now the Government and previous mayor have failed to provide credible strategies to combat it.
Now, London has the highest recorded levels of toxic NOx gases in Europe. Termed the 'invisible killer' NOx gases have risen dramatically in recent years as the amount of diesel vehicles in the city continues to rise.
We believe a crackdown on these vehicles pumping out fatal pollutants is essential in safeguarding our wellbeing and for the health of the future generations. We believe governing bodies have a moral responsibility to take greater action to improve air quality; too little has been done for too long, and urgent action is needed to ensure Londoners no longer have to fear the air they breathe.
Action must be taken to protect our health now and for future generations.
Our last mayor hid statistics about the severity of London’s air pollution, and the UK government continues to lobby against the safe limits set by the EU. Cleaning up London’s toxic air will be impossible without real attention from the government.
By raising public awareness of the severity of this health crisis and supporting those spearheading change we hope to apply enough pressure on the government to act urgently.
Viewers of the campaign are invited to use the hashtag #warondiesel to share their own experiences of air pollution in the city. We want to engage with people of all ages on the issues of pollution and get the voice of the public heard. Let’s get talking!
